An Unlikely Story…
You might be surprised to find out I spent the first 25 years of my professional career in the theatre.
And while I agree that it’s an unconventional career path, the skills I’ve gained working on either side of the velvet curtains have proved indispensable in this second act of my career.
Working behind the scenes as an artist and designer taught me everything I know about using color, pattern, texture and visual harmony to transform an empty stage into another world.
Time spent wielding a clipboard and headset as a stage and production manager taught me how to see the big picture while choreographing infinite moving parts into moving as one.
Most important of all, I learned how to make sure the show goes on, regardless of the fires being snuffed out backstage.
Finally, my work as an actor and coach has given me the ability to connect deeply with other humans when it comes to relating, communicating and making them feel seen. (I can also give a mean pep-talk, when needed.)
The bard said it best:
“All the world’s a stage, And all the men and women merely players.”
It is the joy of my life playing a supporting role on the biggest stage of your life.
Let love bloom,
Jennifer
Picked with care
Building authentic relationships has always been the north star that guides me — and as a floral artist, it's made all the difference. I've worked hard to build relationships with local suppliers so whenever they've got something crazy fresh/unique/drop-dead-gorgeous to show me — best believe, they've got me on speed dial.
For my clients, this means I put effort and intention into understanding who you are as a human. I call myself an intuitive designer in that we work closely together so I understand the brief, the vision, the story being told. Then, when it's time to choose the flowers, I go to my suppliers and see which ones are speaking to me, about you. That means my bouquets are not only sustainable and picked at the peak of freshness — it means I get to craft works of art that are 100% original.
(Just like you. 🖤)
A Note About Sustainability
I use locally-sourced, in-season flowers. I compost and repurpose. I have vessels and decor available for rent to be reused and repurposed wherever, whenever, forever and ever and ever. For more information on rental options, drop me a note on my contact page.
“Jennifer was super easy to work with and she created exactly what we had envisioned for our flowers! I’d recommend her to anyone that asks!”
